Auto-Gratuity FAQ
Why do you charge 10% auto-gratuity on all take-out orders?
We instituted this charge to aid us in providing great employment opportunities for our staff. Gratuities are shared with all employees, both servers and kitchen staff. We run a scratch kitchen with top quality ingredients, and our goal is to provide a top-notch value driven product. Staff still need to process your order, cook it, bag it up, keep it warm, and process your pickup, all in the time that we’ve quoted you. It is our firm belief that all that is worth a 10% auto-gratuity for our staff.
Why not just include the tip in your menu prices and compensate the employees?
If we were to raise prices across the board, this would make in-house dining more expensive and effectively subsidize take-out at their expense. This auto-gratuity policy allows for fair pricing for both in-house and take-away.
Does ownership take any money?
No, it is illegal for owners and managers to take tips, so by charging a gratuity, the benefit goes directly to the staff.
What if I don’t want to pay the 10% tip?
If you don’t want to pay the auto-gratuity, we will gladly remove the charge.
Couldn’t you just pay your employees more?
We definitely could, but in order to do so, we’d have to raise all the prices on our menu.
